Education & Curriculum
The Button Farm Living History Center will have a full schedule of programs for school groups beginning in September 2008. While our programs currently do not follow any particular school system's requirements, we will be glad to match our programs with your curriculum. We work with primary and secondary school groups in public, private and home school settings. Programs can be tailored to the needs of physically challenged and at-risk youth groups as well. Our current programs focus on Plantation Life, Slavery and The Underground Railroad. Additional programs will be added from Fall 2008 to Fall 2009 covering the following topics:
- American Revolution
- Civil War
- Native American Cultures of Maryland
- Immigrant Experience
- Great Depression
- Ethnic Diversity in Montgomery County, MD
- Agriculture and Farming
